10:03 pm Max Ehrmann Desiderata Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. Max Ehrmann, Desiderata, Copyright 1952.

09:23 pm - Packing Well well well... it seems that I have a fair amount of things to do! I actually work SOO much better and more efficiently when I have no time at all. Due to the fact that my SAT II spanish is right below the suggested level for MIT, I decided to take a walk-in SAT II. However the crazy thing is that MIT requires students to take 3 SAT IIs; but these tests can be any test. So you can take Math I ( the easier one), Math II, and Chemistry. However, because i do not want these values to look completely weird, I will be taking physics and math I. So then I will have learned all of physics and just slack off the rest of the year, as I probably would have done inevitably. Another crazy thing about MIT, is that while talking to Dan Jones (addmis. rep.) I learned that one of the first mandetory classes, chemistry, is uber... UBER hard- it covers over 8x as much chemistry as we learned for AP chemistry in a single semester. I was just like: woahhhh man, thats... a lot. So, instead of playing frisbee this weekend, and hanging out with friends, I will be driving up to williams town to hang with my bro and his friends (maybe get some fribee in there) and I will be learning all of physics in 4 or so hours with him. Also i get to visit their library which is really large- and I can find tons of books i need for my research!! which is quite exciting. The frisbee tourny will be very fun and other things. What a riviting year this will be!! mmm mmm good (eating raspberry apple sauce right now-> home made => amazing!!) Current Mood: cheerful

05:28 pm - do they know what they are doing? So... I'm just waiting for frisbee. I think frisbee is the highlight of my week and then after that is academy (freeblocks). Both are really fun and consist of just hang'n out with people, which is always fun . I hope tonight doesn't have another crazy instance where some annoying, and unwelcome adult gets annoyed and tries to kick us away from something. I'm serious- what is their problem? Are they so jealous of us teens because we have a life and everything that they must use all their effort in destorying our way of life! We don't even drink or do drugs much (as a group). There are millions of worse things that we can do. I'm figuring this is the way gangs and other violent groups got started (however i doubt that will happen). Authority just kept on pushing them when they were doing nothing really offensive, and then groups of people just couldn't take it and were like! you suck Mr. Authority and took a gun to the authority heads. It is not the people's fault if they turn out wicked! it is the people who cause them to be wicked. (theme of Wicked the musical). If they were more understanding as to what we do, and more knowledged then these thing wouldn't happen ever. I think this world would be so much better if there were no distinction between adults and kids. It is just a word - adult. ( I feel like singing the song 'adults' from the simpsons). They always think they are more mature and knowledged simply because of years- its like the fact that a president has to be of a certain age. Hey, if a kid who was 12 yrs old was soo amazing and smart, skilled, and charismatic, that he would make it to the presidential elections, I would sooo vote for him over anyone else. Its not the age that counts, its what you are. This also goes with not judging a book by its cover! Such rascals- always fooling around, is such a horrible sterotype. w.e I'll just have fun however i can Current Mood: bored

06:51 pm Like OMG I soo said that probably 20 times today, just mimiking a couple of girls who were acting way toooo valley girl for the academy bus. speaking of the academy bus- it was quite interesting, very very full!!! School was good etc... etc.. but back to the bus. So we started and today was the arts kids first day so it was packed. Allie Millstein started off and got everyone's attention with her loud loud mouth and had everyone do introductions. name, grade, year (of academy) and major/mathscience. So it started off, and the new math sci girl, Rachel, when its her turn goes.- Allie, i think i went to one of your parties, and instantly I thought *drinker and/or druggy* -> mostly cause i heard so much of her parties from other people. ! you know who you are !. and ofcourse, Woody, the greatest bus driver in the world introduced himself on the loudspeaker on our KICKASS new bus with tinted windows for maximum sleeping capacity!!. Aside from that the day was good- boring classes at academy. I like free periods so much more than classes. Can't wait for dinner -> Calzones mmmmm and then back to homework, researching biodiseal which will be a cool thing to loook at. yup -Seraph Current Mood: complacent Current Music: -the lack there of- : the crickets outside <---- sweet band,

06:27 pm - Ough Ough- there are 9 different ways to pronounce it in the English language. Right now i think it means apathy/uninterest. This is because school was Ough. I think it would have been such a better and more exciting day of school if it werent so dang hot. My classes are good i guess- decent classes and things to do. Physics this year will be interesting. Its really cool that mike and i have the same english class... 3rd year in a row. Ennaco looks like a focused physics teacher and I heard Miron was good, so i guess thats a decent line up. But spanish, i don't really know O'rourke just looked so boring. Like one of those beginning teachers (first year of AP for her) and she wants to do a LOT of boring activities that are become harder because there is not point to it. But ghamas was fun- it usually is. for GAmma we just sat in the college room discussing colleges (pffff). -> we tried to get work done, but of course it never happens. it just didn't- all i did was a few problems for calc- and thats it- as you guys may think- i am crazy, i know. cause i want to try and learn 5 different maths this year!!! WOOO HOOOO (at least i think) 1) BC calc 2) AP stat 3) Linear Algebra 4) Discrete math 5) CHAOS MATH!!! <- that one is really interesting. Well thats my day- asi asi i guess- i can have 3 study halls a day- so thats decent!

05:46 pm - Subject: Well, first day of GHAMAS (classes) was decent. It was funny, one of my teachers Mr Mendlessohn said the same exact thing for 100 mins that he said last year for the first day of electronics. I was getting bored tho it was funny cause i knew exactly what he was going to say next. Just interesting stuff. I hope to actually get things done this year. -> maybe I will try taking linear algebra- it seems like it would be interesting/fun to try and figure out. Well, day 2 of this LJ for me, I think i will update it once and then be set for the day :) sounds good!

12:35 am - Relucatantly... I joined in Guess What... I decided to join the live journal trend. I figured if all the cool people did it, then why not? Mostly I felt like i should spend less time on the computer... sorta crazy no? But i feel that if i just update this once every few days- that will fill my fix for the computer and its necessities.
